A 22-year-old man was arrested for murdering his girlfriend in Dallas, reportedly due to her recent abortion. The incident took place on May 10, outside the Church’s Chicken on S. Walton Walker Boulevard.
Shooting and Victim
The police received a shooting call on May 10 at around 7:40 a.m. outside the Church’s Chicken, where they found Gabriella Gonzales dead from multiple gunshot wounds. She was 26 years old.
Investigation and Surveillance Footage
Police investigation revealed that Gonzales had an argument with her boyfriend, Harold Thompson, before the shooting. Surveillance footage from the scene showed Thompson walking with Gonzales, attempting to put her in a chokehold, which she resisted. They continued walking in the parking lot, where Thompson pulled out a firearm and shot Gonzales once in the head, causing her to fall to the ground. Thompson then fired multiple more shots at her before fleeing the scene.
Abortion and Motive
Further investigation revealed that Gonzales had recently traveled to Colorado for an abortion and had returned to Dallas the night before. The police believe that Thompson was the father of the child and did not want Gonzales to have the procedure.
Arrest and Charge
Harold Thompson was arrested and charged with murder for killing his girlfriend, Gabriella Gonzales.
