Shooting at Allen Premium Outlets leaves 8 dead, multiple injured
On Saturday afternoon, a shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets in Texas claimed the lives of eight individuals and left several others injured, including a five-year-old victim. The tragic incident unfolded when an officer from the Allen Police Department, who was responding to an unrelated call, heard gunshots and took action.

Officer Engages Shooter, Neutralizes Threat
According to the Allen Police Department, the officer immediately engaged the shooter, identified as 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia, neutralizing the threat. The shooter was among the nine people who died as a result of the shooting. Medical personnel pronounced seven individuals dead on the scene, while two others died in the hospital.
Injuries and Treatment
The Allen Fire Department transported nine victims to hospitals, while other agencies and private vehicles may have transported additional victims. A spokesperson for Medical City Healthcare confirmed that their facilities were treating eight victims between the ages of five and 61.
As of Sunday morning, three victims remain in critical condition, and four are in stable condition. The tragedy has impacted countless individuals and families.
Response by Authorities and President Biden’s Statement
Numerous agencies, including the Allen Police Department, Collin County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and ATF, responded to secure the scene.Also police confirmed that there is no active threat and that the shooter acted alone.
President Joe Biden expressed his condolences and described the shooter as carrying an AR-15 style assault weapon and tactical gear in a released statement.
Eyewitness Accounts and Heroic Actions
Several eyewitnesses shared harrowing accounts of the shooting and the chaos that ensued.Furthermore Elaine Penicaro, who was shopping with her daughter, described hearing gunshots and seeing sparks fly. She and her daughter took cover inside a store.
Abu Akther, who was shopping with his wife and one-year-old child, heard gunshots outside H&M and rushed to help a woman who had been shot. Akther described bringing the injured woman into the store and seeing blood pouring out of her stomach.
