Authorities have charged Carson Briere, son of Philadelphia Flyers interim general manager Danny Briere, with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and related offenses in relation to an incident at Sullivan’s Pub and Eatery in Erie, Pennsylvania.Moreover the incident, which involved Briere allegedly pushing a disabled woman’s wheelchair down a flight of stairs, has sparked outrage and condemnation online.
The incident occurred on March 5, 2023, at Sullivan’s Pub and Eatery in Erie. According to witnesses and video footage posted on social media, Briere and two friends were at the top of the stairs at Sullivan’s, with Briere sitting in the woman’s wheelchair. Briere then allegedly pushed the wheelchair down the stairs, causing the woman to fall out and the wheelchair to crash to the bottom.
Security staff at Sullivan’s intervened and carried the woman back up the stairs and put her back in the wheelchair. She was reportedly unharmed, but shaken by the incident.
Authorities charged Briere with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and related offenses due to his alleged involvement in the incident. Patrick Carrozzi, another student at Mercyhurst University, was also charged in connection with the incident.
