The city of Dnipro was shaken by a tragic event, as a missile attack on a residential building resulted in the loss of 12 innocent lives, including that of a 15-year-old girl. The attack also left 73 individuals injured, with 14 of them being children. The horror of the situation was further compounded by the fact that 59 of the injured were quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Kyrylo Tymoshenko, a local official, reported that at the time of the attack, 37 people, including 6 children, were able to be rescued from the building. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has issued a statement in response to the attack, promising that those responsible for this act of terror will be held fully accountable.
The Dnipro City Council also released a statement, confirming that 73 people had sustained injuries as a result of the attack, with almost all of them currently receiving treatment in the hospital. This senseless act of violence has left the community in mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of loved ones and the injuries of so many innocent individuals.
